Dunque il Wave Sink Device (aka Doomsday Machine o Boom Boom Machine) è stato mandato indietro nel tempo fino a 250 mila anni fa dai First People. Presumibilmente dopo il 2026 oppure prima che Walter fosse ricoverato al St. Clair's dimenticandosene.
E questo spiegherebbe come è possibile recuperarne le parti in entrambi gli Universi essendo separati in un periodo successivo...

Ma quindi: quando è successo? Che scelta è stata fatta perchè gli Universi si separassero dando vita alle linee temporali Over Here e Overe There scatenando addirittura una guerra?

Orfano di padre e abbandonato dalla madre in tenera età in seguito alle sue seconde nozze, crebbe con forte senso del possesso e risentimento spingendolo adolescente a scrivere "...minacciando mio padre e mia madre Smith di bruciarli dentro la loro casa" e "...desiderando la morte e augurandola a qualcuno". Stati d'animo che che si trascinò lungo tutta la vita portandolo a lunghe dispute per la paternità delle sue scoperte con i suoi colleghi.

Anche l'apparentemente modesta frase "Se ho visto più lontano, è perché stavo sulle spalle di giganti" scritta all'acerrimo nemico Hooke che aveva osato criticare alcune delle sue teorie pubblicamente, pare abbia un più pungente significato in quanto il collega era uomo di basta statura.
